Additive Willmann, the German specialist in industrial additive metal manufacturing, has selected amsight’s production-level quality management software to strengthen traceability, reduce manual effort, and support the company’s next step toward more robust serial AM production.
For Additive Willmann, the decision reflects a clear production reality. As AM moves from technically impressive parts to repeatable industrial supply, quality evidence can no longer live across disconnected files, manual records, and individual process knowledge. Customers need confidence that every step (from powder to delivery) is documented, controlled, and available when required.
Additive Willmann supports customers from initial idea through to finished, high-quality components, combining expertise in 3D printing, materials, process development, and quality management. The company focuses on reliable, application-oriented AM solutions for demanding industrial use cases where precision, traceability, and repeatable quality are essential.
“amsight stood out because it is not just software,” says Jörg Willmann, Founder and CEO of Additive Willmann. “We found a partner with deep understanding of quality management in additive manufacturing, both technically and personally. That matters. For us, this is about building a stronger quality foundation for industrial AM, not simply adding another digital tool.”
amsight provides Additive Willmann with a digital quality backbone designed specifically for AM production. By connecting powder, process, post-processing, machine, and inspection data at part level, the software supports seamless documentation across the production chain and helps reduce the manual work associated with quality evidence assembly.
“Traceability is one of the biggest benefits,” continues Willmann. “With amsight, we can document the full route from powder to delivery in a much more structured way. That gives our customers more security and trust, and it supports the move from individual projects toward more serial production.”
The collaboration also targets process efficiency. By replacing repetitive manual tasks with structured digital workflows, Additive Willmann expects quality-related processes to become faster, more robust, and less prone to error.
“In AM, quality is not only proven at final inspection,” says Willmann. “It is built through the process. amsight helps us keep that process aligned, documented, and easier to optimise. That reduces effort for our team and gives customers clearer evidence of how their components were produced.”
The partnership will also be highlighted during Additive Pulse X Days, taking place at Additive Willmann’ premises in Löffingen from 30 September to 1 October 2026. Philip Sperling of amsight will present “From Powder to Component: Digital Quality Assurance with amsight for Regulated AM Processes” at the conference, showing how connected quality data supports regulated production and practical AM use cases.
For manufacturers facing the same pressure (more documentation, higher customer expectations, and less tolerance for fragmented quality data) the message is clear. Production AM needs a quality evidence chain that is generated during the process, not reconstructed afterwards.
